Masada Type Arrowhead. The type of arrowhead recovered from the desert fortress of Masada, where the Jewish rebels held their last stand against the invading Roman army. One excellent bronze arrowhead, c. 1st century BCE - 1st century CE. This rare example is engraved with enigmatic characters or writing, highly unusual for the type. L: 36mm, olive-green patina, earthen deposits. This exact arrowhead type was recovered in large quantities from Masada, however this specimen was found elsewhere in Israel, from the same precise period.
