Civil War Era Colt Model 1849 // The "Gun That Won The West"

An antique Colt Model 1849 percussion pocket revolver, manufactured in 1863 during the heat of the Civil War. In excellent condition for its age, with all serial numbers correctly matching on barrel, receiver, trigger guard, grip, and cylinder, and with its original wood grips. Signs of wear and use overall, including some scuffs and dents, typical for a pistol of this age. The barrel has the one-line Samuel Colt New York address “ADDRESS CCL SAM’L COLT NEW YORK U.S. AMERICA”. The cylinder still shows the stagecoach robbing scene that was engraved on it, along with “COLTS PATENT” and serial number. It cycles properly, however this is an antique and not warranted safe to shoot and it should not be attempted without the aid of an expert. An excellent addition to any collection!
