Product Description
An ancient Native American large and heavy Full-Groove stone axe head. Dating from the Late Archaic period, circa 4000–1500 B.P. Found in Washington County, Kentucky. Carved from deep brownish-gray stone, with lovely surfaces, showing only a couple dings from plow-marks over the millennia. Measures 4 5/8" x 3 1/8", weighs 1 lb, 4 oz! Old label still affixed to one side. Ex New York City private collection.
