Ancient Greek Lead Sling Bullet Engraved With a Spearhead
Product Description
This Ancient Greek Lead Sling Bullet dates to circa 4th–3rd century BC. A beautifully-preserved example of Greek militaria, the almond-shaped projectile features an engraved spearhead on one side, characteristic of the classic Greek type. The reverse bears an illegible inscription composed of multiple small Greek letters, now worn with age. Measures 1 1/8” in length. A magnificent, historical, and very rare artifact. Ex Vienna, Austria private collection, acquired between 1990 and 2005.
