Medieval Armenia, time of the Crusades. Cilician Kingdom, King Levon I (1198–1219 AD). Large copper Tank, Sis mint. The front depicts the bearded leonine head of King Levon 3/4 facing front, his crown with five dots. Armenian inscription: "+ Levon King of the Armenians" around / The back depicts a large central Patriarchal cross with two stars in lower field. Armenian inscription: "+ Struck in the City of Sis" around. Measures 28 mm, weighs 6.8 grams. Reference: CCA 301; Nercessian ACV #301-307 for type. Ex Rönesans Salzgitter, Germany.
