A wonderfully-preserved Middle Eastern Islamic prayer book dating from the 19th Century or prior. Every one of the pages is hand written and illustrated in black ink, some of the text with red or blue accents. The book measures 8.5" by 7", and is 1/2 inch thick. The pages are fragile, some with torn edges, otherwise intact. From the collection of Dr Joseph Touma, Virginia; purchased at Christie's, October 14th, 1994 auction, lot 336.Accompanied by a hand-signed certificate of authenticity which includes all the details, culture, dating, motifs/inscriptions when applicable, historical relevance, and provenance.
