We are presenting a 1987 S (San Francisco) $1 Silver Eagle in Proof 69 Ultra Cameo (UCAM). 1987 was the second year of production for the Silver Eagle.
What makes this more rare than the 1986 year is the lower mintage. The 1986 Eagle had 1.4 million in production, and the 1987 Eagle had 900K in production. Making this one of the most collectable silver eagles. Plus it has the rare Golden Gate Bridge Label!
Silver is up 47.83% since January. So you have a great coin that is an excellent investment.
This coin is graded Proof 69 Ultra Cameo by NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Corporation), one of the top grading companies in the world. Frosting in lettering and devices is often achieved by sandblasting the die and then polishing only the fields to a brilliant finish (which are also referred to as mirrored fields).

Proofs are coins that are specially struck, typically for sales directly to collectors. Many proofs exhibit varying degrees of “frost” on the design elements.
